Manage all aspects of emergency response in the Counseling and Wellness Services unit of the Student Health Center. Directly supervise all crisis response counseling staff and oversee staff responses to students in distress. Provide diagnostic psychiatric assessments, formulate medical treatment program and provide follow-up care to NYU students; prepare and maintain medical records on patients treated. Instruct and review patient assessments and treatments charted by medical providers and clinicians in the Wellness Exchange. Maintain on-call rotation for clinical supervisors on call and provide 24 hr on call availability to crisis response counselors and other on-call staff. Provide reports regarding utilization, trends, etc. as needed and assist AVP in managing emergency response and other clinical and administrative matters as they arise.Required Education: MD degree, NY State medical license, Board certified or Board eligible in psychiatry.
Required Experience: At least 3 years' post residency clinical experience. Experience supervising psychiatrists and other mental health professionals. Experience with crisis intervention.
Preferred Experience: Experience in working with a college student population.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate and relate well in a multidisciplinary clinical and academic setting. Drug Enforcement Agency registration.
