Laurel Heights Hospital has a co-ed Acute Facility for children and adolescents, and is seeking a FT, exempt, Therapist to work with the Autism Spectrum Disorder population, ranging from ages, 6-17, in addition to having experience with varied diagnoses and psychological/emotional problems, such as: trauma, abandonment, PTSD, schizophrenia, self-injurious behaviors. This population displays co-occurring symptoms/behaviors for ASD which includes non-verbal, serious self-injury, and total self-care. This person will also be working with challenging family situations and is capable of developing and implementing a therapeutic treatment plan in an acute setting that is in compliance with state, federal, agency and all other applicable rules and regulations. This position will be responsible for daily group, family therapy weekly along with completion of all documentation within a 24 hour time period. In addition, to providing therapy services, case management and discharge planning experience are critical to providing comprehensive care. This individual needs to have prior experience working with different populations as well as patients who have co-occurring presentation of ASD and psychiatric diagnoses. This person will be able to work and provide supervision to direct care staff regarding, behavior plans, interventions, how to provide group therapy, and how to provide a therapeutic milieu for this challenging population. In addition, this position is fast paced with quick turn-around for admissions and discharges; therefore, this person needs to be highly organized, capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks.
