Fairview is the regions largest, most comprehensive provider of chemical dependency and mental health services. Together with the University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry, University of Minnesota Physicians and Behavioral Healthcare Providers (BHP), we provide a comprehensive program to meet the needs of children, adolescents, adults and seniors.
The Nurse Manager will be leading Station 20 and Station 22.
Station 20 has 17 beds in 5 private and 6 double rooms. The team consists of 2 attending psychiatrists, 2 CTC's (social workers), 1 Occupational therapist, 11 RNs and 15 psychiatric associates. Chaplains, diversity specialists and medical providers are shared with other units.Station 20 has a mix of many challenging patients including those who are anxious/depressed and are at risk for self harm or suicide as well those who have thought disorders and struggle with managing their lives in the community. Some patients have co-occurring medical issues that broaden the RN experience. Station 20 is one of our teaching units and so RNs and PAs will work with resident doctors and medical students. Team meeting on teaching units are very informative and participatory.
Station 22has 16 beds.The unit team consists oftwo attending psychiatrists, each with a team of residents and medical students that rotate;two case managers; one occupational therapists; RNs; psychiatric associates; and health unit coordinators.
Station22 is a University of MNPsychiatry teaching unit and serves patients with primary thought disorders. Station 22providesa unique workenvironment of collaborative teaching and learning that is exciting and allows for opportunities to learn and grow in this field.
This Nurse Manager role will plan, manage, coordinate and evaluate patient care activities of the adult in-patient behavioral health units including resource management, quality, regulatory compliance, educational opportunities, and financial management. This role serves as a leader and role model to all staff and also maintains clinical competencies of staff.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field. If bachelors is not in nursing then must have a Master's degree in nursing
