The Clinical Technician provides direct care and supervision of patients with psychiatric disorders, to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients. The Clinical Technician has the primary responsibility for ensuring the patientâ€™s safety, environmental safety, and manages patient behavior on the unit. The Clinical Technician will provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. While performing specific duties, the Clinical Technician must provide appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse violent situation, and correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
Certified Nursing Assistant required within 1 year of hire or transfer
Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Psychology, completion of specialized training (Certified Psychiatric Tech), or related field preferred
Minimum one year experience working with a psychiatric population required; 2 or more years preferred
Current CPR and SAMA training certification or attainment during orientation.
