JOB SUMMARY:
Psychiatric Medical Director is responsible for Behavioral Health and Chemical Dependency Services at Bon Secours Community Hospital. Medical Director oversees clinical services to ensure regulatory compliance in accordance with CMS, Joint Commission, OASAS, and OMH standards and guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provides primary patient care on Inpatient Mental Health Unit
* Attends Court Proceedings as Needed for legal proceedings associated with patient care
* Provides clinical oversight for Inpatient Detoxification and Rehabilitation Services including Medication Assisted Treatment
* Serves as Consultant and Liaison with Medical Floors and Nursing Homes
* Provides Tele-Psychiatric Services with St. Anthony Hospital
* Provides on call services one night a week and 1 weekend a month
* Completes Peer Reviews with insurances carriers to determine medical necessity and prior authorizations for medications/care
* Oversees compliance with electronic records and accurate billing for each encounter
* Completes psychiatric provider schedule and ensures proper coverage on all BH units
* Leads monthly providers meetings with BH leadership and providers
* Attends and Participates in Incident Review Committee Meetings
* Works with Administrator regarding Policy and Procedure, Utilization, and Productivity
* Provides guidance and leadership for Performance Improvement Plans and Quality Initiatives
* Provides leadership with Orange County LGU
* Conducts in-service trainings and education to staff
* Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: minimum of 3 years experience in Psychiatry
Education: M.D. with Board Certification in Psychiatry
Licenses / Certifications: Board Certification in Psychiatry, Board Certification in Addiction preferred (must have within 4 years of hire date)
