Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-time Mental Health Assistant for the Inpatient Psychiatric unit at Morristown Medical Center to work 12 Hour varied shifts including every other weekend.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Demonstrated knowledge & understanding of psychiatric disorders & patients.
Use therapeutic communication skills in individual & group interactions with psychiatric patients.
Provide 1-to-1 interventions with patients.
Crisis identification & management including de-escalation.
Assist nursing staff with variety of tasks/activities.
Thorough, accurate, timely documentation of tasks/activities.
Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patients and their families.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or GED required
Bachelor's in Psychology or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
1-2 years

Licenses/Certification:
BLS
